Malaysia has sustained its economic growth through timely policy directions that have kept pace with global changes. Now with increasing competition from budding economies in Asia, Malaysia has had to scrutinize its way forward to bolster those sectors that require strengthening.

The Malaysian Branding & Packaging Design Centre has an important role to play in lending its expertise in this endeavour. I am pleased with its efforts to help in the transformation of Malaysian industries, pa-ticularly the rural enterprises, many of which, hold pride of place in main-taining the traditional heritage of Malaysia through its manufacture of craft and food-based products that have been a part of our lives over hundreds of years.

I look forward to this transformation of Malaysian industries that will contribute to make Malaysia a global packaging hub. I am therefore very pleased with the Malaysian Branding & Packaging Design Centre and its efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s global positioning in the world market.
